The Turning Point Trust is a Christian charity serving the destitute children in the Kibera slum in Nairobi set up some years ago by Jon and Jo Parsons (ex Christ Church). Emily Obiti (nèe Smith, daughter of Martin and Sue Smith) grew up in Christ Church and now works for Turning Point in Kibera with her Kenyan husband Moses. They have two children, Malakai and Addis. Fountains of Hope School provides high quality free primary education for over 150 children enabling them to get into secondary education. Find out more about Turning Point
gareth & katharine mort
Gareth Mort was brought up in Christ Church where he was an active member until God called him to join Wycliffe Bible Translators. Gareth serves as a translation consultant in Nigeria. He is married to Katharine who has been responsible for creating the alphabet and co-ordinating the translation of the scriptures into the local Kamuku language. They have two children, Eleanor and Daniel. Gareth was ordained into the Church of Nigeria in 2019. Find out more about Wycliffe Bible Translators
michael green
Michael Green works with CMS in Ipswich amongst Arabic speakers and refugees and believers from a Muslim background. He previously served for 10 years as a male nurse at a psychiatric hospital in Jordan until he had to return to UK for health reasons. Michael helps asylum seekers and refugees, some of whom have real problems with housing, family relationships, etc. He is involved in training, discipleship and evangelism ministry. In March 2022 Michael’s current contract with CMS will terminate and he is currently waiting on God to guide him to his next assignment. Find out more about CMS
jo & ollie davis
Fusion is a Christian charity helping students who go to university to connect with other Christians and local churches and to live for Jesus while at university. Jo Davis (nèe Blair) was an active Christ Church Youth member. Jo and Olli have recently moved to Spain to establish a Fusion ministry there. Find out more about Fusion
matt & farrah
Matt and Farrah went to East Asia from Christ Church in 2015. Matt works in science, connecting with students and professors and young leaders. Farrah works with vulnerable women on the streets. They are currently in UK waiting for the opportunity to return when travel regulations allow.

Christians Against Poverty – CAP provides a debt counselling service for those in debt or at risk of debt, helping them to budget and manage their finances so they become debt free. Christ Church hosts a CAP management centre headed up by Sarah Goddard
BESOM – a Christian charity providing a bridge between those who want to give their time, money, skills or things for the benefit of those who are in desperate need
York Road Project – a local charity which runs a direct access Shelter and a Day Centre to support single homeless people in Woking and the surrounding area
Engage provides a Christian presence in primary and secondary schools in and around Woking – sharing God’s love with 15,000 children and young people
Across is supported by local churches in Woking and exists to see people of all backgrounds become disciples of Jesus Christ. It is part of the Mahabba network, helping everyday Christians to share their faith with their Muslim neighbours. Phil Simpson works for Mahabba and his wife Rachel is very involved in Across
Match4Mission a matching fund for global mission projects, investing in missionaries from low economy backgrounds to fulfil their God-given calling: promoting mission literature and facilitating partnerships between established and emerging mission organisations.
Bethesda Life Centre (BLC), Goa, India
Christ Church has links with pastor Martin and Beena Philip who lead the Bethesda Life Centre in Goa’s capital, Panjin. BLC comprises a number of orphanages catering for some of the poorest children in Goa, providing them with love, care and education. The “sunflower project” also provides support and skills training for women who have been trafficked.
