baptisms, weddings and funerals

At Christ Church, we count it a privilege to be a part of the significant events in people’s lives, and offer stability and support in changing times. We can conduct baptism, wedding and funeral ceremonies – do get in touch with us, we’d love to hear from you.

baptisms

We regularly offer infant and adult baptism. Typically this is offered to those who are joining or already belong to the church community. We also offer thanksgivings and dedications for children. Adults who were baptised as infants can reaffirm their baptismal promises in the baptism pool with water. Water is also a sign of new life, as we are born again by water and the Spirit.

weddings

We love celebrating the gift of marriage and happily give time, help, and support to enable couples to plan and prepare for their life together as husband and wife.  A wedding is one of life's great moments, based upon a solemn, public and life-long commitment between a man and a women, declared and celebrated in the presence of God and before witnesses.  Marriage is intended to be a creative relationship that is life long where husband and wife grow together in love and trust and are united with one another in heart, body and mind.

We run a marriage preparation course which is a great way to help you develop the strong foundations for a long and happy life together before your wedding day.

There is a team at Christ Church who can offer flower arrangements or alternatively you can make your own arrangements.

marriage preparation

Preparation will help you develop the strong foundations for a long and happy life together. For this reason, if you choose to marry at Christ Church we would encourage you to undertake our marriage preparation course.

Marriage preparation is also available to all from Christ Church who are planning to get married even if it is to take place in another part of the country or abroad. It is also open to those who are from other churches and who may not be regular churchgoers..

funerals

It is our experience that the funeral service can become an occasion of thanksgiving for the life of a loved one and bring comfort, hope, and help to the bereaved.  If you have been bereaved, we would like to offer support to you and your family in whatever way is appropriate, whether now, or in the future.
