How has God worked in your life in 2017?

I don’t know about you, but at the end of the year, I like to review and reflect on what has happened over the year.  This allows me to process and pray – to hold things before God, sometimes in thanksgiving, other times in sadness or relief.   Whatever has happened, we know (according Romans 8:28) that if we include God, He can work good out of all situations, even ‘bad’ ones and in the process, change us into being more like Jesus.

I want to suggest two things to hopefully spur you into doing this reviewing and reflecting.

Firstly, write out how God has worked in your life over the last year, spending time to thank God for what He has done.  After that you might simply keep it, perhaps in your journal or in your bible.

Secondly, use your story to bless others.  On the 7th January, we will be giving space in the service for people to give a short summary of what God has done in you, through you or with you over the last year.   If you don’t like the idea of saying something publicly, you could encourage someone else who would be blessed by it.  If you can’t think of anyone to bless with your story, then we would love to hear what God is up to and if you are willing to share it, I am keen to bless the Bishops with some of our stories (they deal with a great deal of negative stuff, so they would really appreciate hearing encouraging stories of what God is up to in our lives)
