PRAYER BOOKMARK FOR DECEMBER
Missions of the Month
York Road Project and Woking Besom
The York Road Project is a charity which runs a direct access Night Shelter for single homeless people in Woking and the surrounding area. It also provides a Day Centre offering life-skills programmes to help get back into sustainable accommodation.
Pray for the increasing number of single men and women in Woking who have fallen on hard times and find themselves without a home and no family support. Pray also for those fighting problems of addiction or mental health.
Pray for the clients who come to the Night Shelter and the Day Centre and for the dedicated staff who give them personal support to improve their life skills, strengthen their self-esteem and help them get into sustainable permanent accommodation.
Give thanks for the strong support given to the York Road Project by Woking Borough Council and by the local community in the face of reductions in government funding.
Woking Besom is a Christian organisation providing a bridge between those who want to give their time, money, skills or things for the benefit of those who are in need - helping vulnerable people, homeless people, refugees, families or individuals living in extreme poverty.
Pray that God will continue to prompt people to give their time and skills for collections, deliveries and sorting - to bless needy people by giving good-quality household items, to donate cash to help pay for the van, the warehouse, petrol, mattress covers, curtain track, etc, etc.
